2019 United Way Community Challenge

We want to bring the whole community together for a weekend of fun, food and games and we want YOU!

A Legacy of Community

Over 20 years ago, the United Way of Clark, Champaign, and Madison Counties hosted their first Corporate Challenge. This event lasted for ten years and brought together competitors from businesses and organizations all over the community for a day of fun.

This year, the golf scramble will take place at Windy Knoll Golf Club on Friday, September 6th and the Community Challenge will take place at Snyder Park on Saturday, September 7th.

Something For Everyone!

Join us on Saturday September 7th for a day of team bonding and community competition!

The day will begin with the annual 5K at 9:00 am, followed by the volleyball, tug-of-war , pickle ball, and corn hole tournaments.

There will also be food trucks and music!

Golf Scramble

A Battle of the Businesses!

Windy Knoll Golf Club, September 6th, 9 a.m.

Registration Includes:

  • 18 holes of golf (Scramble format)
  • Golf carts provided

  • Closest to the pin
  • Place prizes and more!

Team Composition

Challenge Team: This team will earn points for and compete in the Overall Community Challenge bracket. Comprised of at least 14 team members (may add additional participants to include alternates) and will compete in the following events:

  • Team Running 5K: 4 runners
  • Pickle Ball: 2 players (Mixed Doubles: 1 male, 1 female
  • Volleyball: 6 players (at least 3 females)
  • Tug-of-War: 6 players (at least 3 females)
  • Cornhole: 2 players

Participants: Company or Community teams. If a company team is submitted, at least ½ the participants must be employees of that company. Other team members can be family or friends as approved by the company. Community teams can be community groups or just a group of friends interested in participating in the Overall Community Challenge. All participants must be 16 years or older.

Early Bird Price Before July 12th: $225
Price After July 12th: $275

T-Shirts: As part of your Challenge Team registration, your team will receive 14 Community Challenge t-shirts. You will be able to choose your team color and a logo or design of your choice (logo will be printed in one color) will be displayed on the front. Additional team shirts can be purchased for $10 each. Please contact Gracie at United Way, ghemphill@uwccmc.org, to confirm color, logo and sizes. Color preference will be given on a first come first served basis.
Awards will presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners of the Overall Community Challenge.*

Individual Event Team
Companies or community groups may enter teams to compete in individual event brackets, separate from their Overall Challenge Team. There is no limit to the number of individual event teams a company or community group can enter. It is not required for a company or community group to sponsor an Overall Challenge Team to enter a team into an individual event.

Individual Events:

  • Team Running 5K $100 (4 runners)
  • Pickle Ball $30 (2 players; mixed doubles)
  • Volleyball $50 (minimum of 6 players, at least 3 females)
  • Tug-of-War $40 (6 players- at least 3 females)
  • Cornhole $30 (2 players)

Awards will presented to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners for each individual event
*Challenge Teams are not eligible to win individual event bracket

Non-Team/Individual Competition, individual participants interested in running

  • Events and Pricing: 5K Run $25
    Awards will be presented to the 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners
    *Minors are able to participate (16+)

Platinum Sponsorship: $2,500

  • Logo and prominent recognition in all marketing regarding Community Challenge
