WHAT IS A COMMUNITY CHALLENGE?

United Way works to advance the common good by focusing on the three building blocks for a good quality of life-education, income and health. We are recruiting people and organizations from all across the community who bring the passion, expertise and resources needed to get things done, and we need you to join us. You can give, you can advocate and you can volunteer. When we work together in common purpose, we LIVE UNITED!

You may remember Corporate Challenge that United Way held 13 years ago. It was crazy. It was fun. It was competitive. Well, we brought that great tradition back last year, and it’s happening again this year, bigger and better than ever. We want to bring the whole community together for a weekend of fun, food and games and we want YOU! Pick your favorite event, get a team together and start practicing. Or, just join the spectators while eating some good food from local food trucks.

The Golf Scramble will be held on Friday, September 8 at the Reid Park Golf Course, and the Community Challenge will be in Snyder Park on Saturday, September 9. Registration to compete in the Community Challenge opens June 29 and closes August 18, so get your teams ready! We can’t wait to see you in September!

HISTORY OF THE UNITED WAY COMMUNITY CHALLENGE

Over 20 years ago, the United Way of Clark, Champaign, and Madison Counties hosted their first Corporate Challenge. This event lasted for ten years and brought together competitors from businesses and organizations all over the community for a day of fun. Take a look through some of our favorite images from our years of Corporate Challenge excitement!

VOLUNTEER AT THE COMMUNITY CHALLENGE WEEKEND

We will be needing a variety of volunteers at both the Golf Scramble and the Community Challenge event. Visit the link to the right to learn more about the volunteer opportunities as we post them.
